Read MoreARGHHHHH the first dance! How much to prepare, should you take it seriously or should you treat it as a joke? Above is a great example of a brilliant first dance with minimal preparation (no offence guys!). But it does go to show that you can put on a great show without too much stress - the crowd at this one were absolutely loving it and Charlotte’s cheekiness and enjoyment really added a certain je ne sais quoi!
I have come across a few absolutely wonderful mothers at my weddings. I don’t know why I am always particularly impressed when they let their hair down. I guess they could easily let the stress get to them, or the emotion of seeing their kids fly the nest.
It’s a crazy feeling when the clock ticks over and you realise you’re getting married THIS YEAR!
Once you get over the anxiety, it’s fun to work towards something important, that’s been so far in the distance for so long. One day it will be in the rear-view mirror and you’ll miss these days.
I'm a sucker for emotion. Even after the 30th watch on a long edit, these weddings can make me cry! A certain facial expression, a choked-back word, a really honest speech, can bring on the eyeball mist! I am always particularly impressed by good speeches. I love the bravery of someone standing up in a room full of people and saying something honest. Their family and friends are rapt, eating up every word. I love how everyone has stopped what they're doing to spend a day listening to each other.

Read MoreI was very excited this week to be in FRANCE filming Nicole and Dan’s incredible chateau wedding. WOW! What a venue to be invited to! Chateau de l’Artigolle is a boutique style chateau, surrounded by rolling fields, with a marble swimming pool and tennis courts.
Read MoreThis was a source of some rowing between my boyfriend and I. His grandfather had left him the signet ring he had worn all his life, with his initials engraved inside, and my boyfriend was desperate to wear it. For me, signet rings are synonymous with Del Boy and possibly Nathan Statham.
Read MoreI'm constantly thinking about my kit and how to achieve interesting new shots. As a solo filmmaker, there are only so many cameras I can operate. But at my last wedding, I tried setting up a second camera and just letting it roll. I got mixed results but I was pleased to have tried it.
Read MoreNow, this is a bit of a ball ache isn’t it? Sort of a wonderful ball ache, but time consuming nonetheless. You suddenly come to to find you’ve spent two hours on google images and there’s a line of spittle hanging out of your mouth.
Read MoreEvery part of your wedding film is important, but if you have put a lot of thought into showing your guests a good time, you are going to want a record of them going crazy!
Read MoreI got married in September, and while I don’t wish to make this blog an extended homage to my own big day, it does give me a much better understanding of the role of the wedding videographer and photographer. You are going to want to re-live that day so much you will be in pain. You need all the JPGs and .MOVs you can lay your greedy little hands on.
